Teatro São Luiz joins the Nuit de la Solidarité in Paris (along with Florence, Pristina, Sibiu,…) on 23 January, with the first edition of Poetic Consultations, under the guidance of Miguel Loureiro, to be held at the Pina Manique Education and Development Centre – Casa Pia, in Belém, Lisbon.
Four actors prescribe poetry to those who need it in their lives, they are Cátia Nunes, Diogo Fernandes, Tobias Monteiro and Isabél Zuaa; they advise young people and adults, with a prescription made up of poems that heal, comfort and open up perspectives for those who listen.
As in other countries, these Poetic Consultations are held in and for the community; for example in Florence, Italy, where they will take place with a community of institutionalised seniors, but also in Paris, in actions for women victims of violence, young people in isolation and people in precarious situations, and in other places with different groups and realities. The São Luiz Theatre is holding this first experimental edition, in partnership with Casa Pia de Lisboa, reserved for the school community, as a way of publicising a project that it intends to repeat in the coming months, already open to the public, to be held in the streets, squares or gardens of the city.
Poetic Consultation, with Cátia Nunes, Diogo Fernandes, Tobias Monteiro and Isabél Zuaa in a partnership between Teatro São Luiz and Casa Pia de Lisboa, takes place in the courtyard of the Pina Manique Education and Development Centre, in Rua dos Jerónimos, Lisbon, on 23 January at 12 noon.
