Two concerts to celebrate the Aniversário da Metropolitana (Anniversary of the Metropolitan Orchestra). The first one is a performance by the Orchestras of the Metropolitan Professional School. For the second one, Joana Carneiro and the Metropolitan meet again for a festive day: the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra performs an orchestral suite where the names of planets emerge as astronomical messengers. The pioneering work by Alan Leo, The Art of Synthesis, inspired Gustav Holst who, in 1916, recreated himself around the idea that the planets of the solar system could influence human personality traits. To close this programme, instead of O Místico (Neptune), the planet Earth takes centre stage. The tone poem Terramoto de Lisboa, by Armando José Fernandes, evokes the 1755 tragedy.
