Belonging / E di / Pertenencia / Zugehörigkeit / Pertença / 絆 is a journey through potential meetings towards a sense of belonging. Meeting people, getting to know their personal stories, their life stories, stories of memories filled with future. This performance, which could be a performative film session, suggests a journey to the complexity involved in the idea of belonging. From the importance of genetic mapping of human populations through DNA testing, to ethical, political, geographical, social and economic questions about that same data, to narratives about belonging as a feeling, and the fact that this feeling, especially, requires urgent mapping. A film performance with live music, where attempts to capture a feeling of belonging are poetic ways to tell someone’s personal story.
