Continuing the partnership with the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema – Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, São Luiz presents a show by final year students of the Theater degree. The play THE OTHERS, with dramaturgy by Bruno Bravo, is based on the haunting novel by Henry James THE TURN OF THE SCREW and the adaptations by Truman Capote and Benjamin Britten. The show, spoken and sung, begins with a manuscript read around the fireplace which, we soon realize, is the diary of an unnamed girl, who was hired as a tutor for two children, Miles and Flora, on a country estate in Bly, in Essex, England. Bly’s mansion turns out to be a space of apparitions, where imagination and the paranormal mix, in a haunting that will end up involving the two children.
Based on this research, complementary actions were developed, organized and produced by production students, such as the sound and visual installation O ECO DOS INOCENTES, which can be consulted on the website http://producaoestc.com/.
