After the premiere in Teatro São Luiz, in 2017, and after having travelled through Portugal, the pianist Joana Gama comes back to the starting point with her tribute performance to the French composer and pianist Erik Satie (1866-1925). Let’s get to know him a little better? Mr Satie liked to walk. Well, maybe not that much, but he had no option: having no money left, he would take long daily walks, as he couldn’t afford to pay for the train connecting his house to the city centre in Paris, where he spent most of his life. Besides being a music composer — piano was his instrument of choice —, Mr Satie liked umbrellas, he liked to draw and liked seafood. He was a lonely person but he had a big sense of humor.
