French playwright, theatre and film director Caroline Guiela Nguyen and her company Les Hommes Approximatifs present Fraternité, conte fantastique at Teatro São Luiz, a show that mirrors the work they have been developing, combining fiction and reality and always believing that the human imagination is their greatest weapon. On stage, an imagined place, a sort of tribunal of memories and tears, a centre of care and consolation. In this world, the loved ones are Absent – without any explanation – and the Remaining ones are the ones left. The latter hurt, seek the cure for this endless pain. The years go by and the question remains: where are the Absent? Until one day, a young man says: “my mother, I bring her with me”. Fraternité, conte fantastique is part of a cycle that also includes two other plays and a film, about the next 100 years, in an attempt to build an intellectual and affective affiliation between us and the future and looking at the way human beings place themselves beside each other.
