Description

Fado Jazz – Filhos da Revolução represents a journey through the Portuguese musical soul and is a celebration of Freedom, the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April and the relationship with Africa. Following on from the previous album, Fado Jazz Ensemble, this new album, released in 2023, develops and deepens the dialectic between the two aforementioned musical styles, also featuring the presence of Salvador Sobral on the theme A Casa Dela.

This work, published with the support of two major record labels (Sony Music in Portugal and ACT Music in the rest of the world) and has original music composed by Júlio Resende, also features Bruno Chaveiro on Portuguese guitar, Alexandre Frazão on drums and percussion and André Rosinha on double bass. The show includes an unprecedented gesture: as Júlio Resende is the only artist authorized to use Amália Rodrigues’ voice in his shows, an impossible duet takes place between the pianist and the Fado Diva in the song Medo.
