Fado Jazz – Filhos da Revolução represents a journey through the Portuguese musical soul and it is a celebration of Freedom, of the 50 years since the 25th of April and of the relationship with Africa. Following Resende’s previous album, Fado Jazz Ensemble, this new album, released in 2023, develops and delves deeper into the dialectic between the two musical genres in its title, and it features Salvador Sobral in the track A Casa Dela.
This work, released with the support of two big music labels (Sony Music in Portugal and ACT Music in the rest of the world) and with original music by Júlio Resende, also features Bruno Chaveiro on Portuguese guitar, Alexandre Frazão on drums and percussion and André Rosinha on double bass. The performance also includes an unprecedented moment: since Júlio Resende is the only artist with permission to use Amália Rodrigues’s voice in his shows, there will be an impossible duet between the pianist and the Fado Diva in the track Medo.
