BIO
Julie Desrosiers is Canadian and has a background in visual arts and scenography. She is a contemporary puppeteer who likes to expand the concept of “puppet arts”. In her work as a builder, creator and performer, she questions the definition of this discipline, combining it with different forms of art, manipulation and representation.
In his creations for the street, he focuses on interactive visual walks on stilts, with puppets, which can be seen from afar, up close, or through a small hole that reveals another world to the most curious… By presenting his working in public places and ‘popular’ contexts, Julie tries to make art more and more accessible, to the point of making everyone want to go further, think creatively and “consume” culture.
Her shows have already been presented in several countries, such as Iceland, Thailand, Denmark, France, Spain, Brazil, Czech Republic, Austria or Mexico.
