At the São Luiz, the singer and composer Luisa Sobral presents a quartet, in a concert around her 10 years’ long career going through her 5 records, also revealing a few new songs. It was in 2011 that she premiered with The Cherry on My Cake, which was followed by There’s A Flower In My Bedroom (2013) – with guests such as Jamie Cullum, António Zambujo and Mário Laginha –, the children’s songs album Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa (2014) and Luísa (2016). In 2017 she composed Amar Pelos Dois, Eurovision Festival award winner, interpreted by her brother Salvador Sobral. In 2018 arrives Rosa, album produced by the catalan Raul Refree, which stands for a more intimate tone where Luisa Sobral takes her chance on new composition and arrangements territories, being granted national and international recognition by that which was considered her most mature work to date. The return to record publishing happens with Camomila (2021), mini-album composed by lullabies dedicated to each of the week days. Her composer dimension has been further highlighted throughout the years, having composed for artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, Marco Rodrigues, Mayra Andrade, Sara Correira, among others.
In 2020, in the middle of confinement, the Live in a Box Festival was born. For three days, through their Instagram accounts, Lusophone artists gave concerts online and reached, live, about 8,000 viewers. In 2022, Live in a Box will jump from the small screen of a mobile phone to the São Luiz Theatre, to once again be close to the people and transmit to them what only live music is capable of. Lusophone music is once again set on a physical stage and promises to come together in an out of the box festival that celebrates the union between Lusophone and Iberian music, in two daily concerts over three days.
