“Love is a sound that demands an echo”, said Júlio Dinis. It is with this sentence that Carla Vasconcelos’ show is presented, a tribute to the golden times of radio and the men and women who were part of it. Hidden faces that have a voice present in all of us, names that pass from generation to generation. Headings that are not forgotten. Complaints that are hummed. “Talking about radio, remembering radio, listening to radio, is always a smile drawn on the face. Radio is part of all of us and no matter how much the world leaps and bounds forward it is always our new old companion. Radio is an everlasting love”, writes the director. In the same way that Rádio Clube Português and Emissora Nacional did in the 40s, when the public could watch live broadcasts, O Amor é um Som wants to bring back that magic and glamour, in a show where everything happens in flight and where spectators and listeners can feel happy and feel like singing, dancing and laughing. On stage, there are musicians, actors and a well-known name from radio and television: Júlio Isidro, who makes his theatrical debut here.
