In the year of the centenary of Natália Correia’s birth, for the first time, the fifteen titles that make up the writer’s Complete Dramatic Works (Obra Dramática Completa) are brought together in a book, including several unpublished texts. The volume is coordinated by Armando Nascimento Rosa, author of the extensive critical introduction that provides a detailed analysis of Natália Correia’s original dramatic creation. This long-awaited edition of Imprensa Nacional Casa da Moeda allows us to demonstrate what Nascimento Rosa writes about theater in the creative intervention of Natália. “Theatre as an art of citizenship, challenging mentalities, was an intense and daring vocation for playwright Natália; theater understood as an aesthetic and political place where thought and emotion manifest themselves in playful alchemy.”
The book launch session features a presentation by researcher Francesca Rayner, associate professor of Theater Studies at the University of Minho – CEHUM, the intervention of journalist and writer Fernando Dacosta, friend of Natália and her recognized memoirist and the author of the edition Armando Nascimento Rosa, playwright and essayist, coordinating professor of Theories and Aesthetics at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, where he has taught since 1998, and researcher member of CIAC (Center for Research in Arts and Communication).
