It was at Teatro São Luiz, 46 years ago, that the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (OSJ) made its debut under the direction of its first conductor, Alberto Nunes. For the last decades, it has trained many of the current instrumentalists in our orchestras, presented to the public many young soloists and taken on its mission of supporting music culture throughout the country. It is therefore recognized as a fundamental institution in our music-pedagogical landscape, being the only symphonic orchestra of young people with permanent activity, playing a key role in the training of musicians, aiming for high level improvement and professionalization.
Once again, OSJ returns to Teatro São Luiz, where it has performed dozens of times and played some of the most important repertoires of its career. This season’s concert, is conducted by Christopher Bochmann and invites pianist Marta Menezes, in a performance including Beethoven and Haydn.
