Once again, the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (OSJ) returns to Teatro São Luiz, where it debuted 47 years ago and where it has performed dozens of times, playing some of the most important repertoires in its history. In this season’s concert, it is directed by conductor Christopher Bochmann, in a programme that includes compositions by Francisco de Lacerda, Mozart, Bochmann and Haydn.
Over the past few decades, OSJ has trained many of the current instrumentalists in our orchestras, has made many young soloists known to the public and has taken its action in supporting music culture throughout the country. It is therefore recognised as a fundamental institution in our music-pedagogical landscape, being the only symphony orchestra of young people with permanent activity, playing a key role in the training of musicians, aiming for high level improvement and professionalisation.
