A singular workshop with the objective of deepening the knowledge about the Bonecos de Santo Aleixo, as well as an approximation to the techniques of manipulation e utterance of this artistic reality with singular features in the traditional puppet panorama.

The enrollment in the workshop (subject to selection) is made through filling the sign up form, which you can also request via e-mail, to which you must attach a biographic note, accompanied by letter of interest. The formation will lean into the repertoire, performance organization,puppet manipulation and circulation, the character features, guaranteed musical intervention, live, with portuguese guitar, the preparation of the supporting feet (with pine tree resin) whihc warrants the surprising “fogacheis”, the small angel candles or the artisan small bombs and the usage of the olive oil candle which warrants the illumination.
These processes frame into the work that’s been made with the Bonecos de Santo Aleixo, namely in the preservation and appreciation of this important portuguese theatrical patrimonial asset.
It’s been long since the times when at Alentejo the “títeres” theater was one of the few entertainments of those people, but the truth is that these “stick figures” keep on feeding the conversations at the Santo Aleixo village that provided them with a name, but also in many corners of the world, where the performance magic seems to make people forget about the language barrier.
-Preemptive measures COVID
Accessing the workshops is only possible with the presentation of:
Digital vaccination certificate demonstrating the full covid vaccination completed at least 14 dias prior / or negative lab testing certificate(PCR performed in the 72 hours prior to the workshop) / or antigen test performed in the 72 hours prior to the workshop / or recovery certificate demonstrating the recovery from Covid infection less than 6 months prior to the date.
Self tests are not accepted.
The use of mask is compulsory inside the theater premises.
