In Horace’s Epistles this maxim is exposed for the first time: Ira furor brevis est. Anger is temporary madness. How long does this state of emotional urgency last? This vehement passion? For three minutes? In half-hour cycles? Or are we able, in a minute, to go from placidity to anger, to wrath, to fury? How do we build dramaturgically and emotionally a succession of these moments? What shape do they have, what shape do they take, these passions? Are they monstrous? Are we, monstrous? Sonia Baptista draws this new show from her research and reflection on classical texts, contemporary philosophical texts, expressions of popular culture, essays on society and gender, on ecofeminism and on the desire for a punk experience that challenges the status quo.
