Filipe Raposo has already accompanied over 150 silent movies with the piano, creating fantastic soundtracks that become intrinsic to the filmic object. At São Luiz he will present excerpts of silent movies by Charles Chaplin, Buster Keaton and George Méliès, commenting the movies and accompanying them with the piano — essential titles from cinema history, as well as their directors and characters. In the screen of Um Piano Afinado pelo Cinema, we will see excerpts of The Immigrant (1917), The Gold Rush (1925), The Circus (1928), Modern Times (1936) and Limelight (1952), by Charles Chaplin; Sherlock Holmes Jr. (1924) and Steamboat Bill, Jr (1928), by Buster Keaton; and A Trip to the Moon (1902), by Georges Méliès.
