After achieving great success as lead singer and the soul behind the project OqueStrada, Marta Miranda began her solo career as MirAnda, and now she is presenting her new album, Uma Mulher na Cidade, live at Teatro São Luiz. The singer invites some of the musicians who took part in the album recording, whom she calls “the Lisbon lovers”, to join her on stage to celebrate the city that welcomes them. A celebration of Lisbon’s musical and cultural diversity, Uma Mulher na Cidade is made up of five fados and another five songs, exploring a wide range of influences, from fado to funaná, via desert blues and the Argentinian cumbia. Launched by German record label Jaro Medien, the album was distinguished by the Transglobal World Music Chart and was recognised by the German Record Critics’ Award Association as the best World Music album of the last quarter of 2023. The album was produced by MirAnda and Alê Siqueira, winner of three Grammy Awards and producer to artists such as Caetano Veloso, Os Tribalistas and Elza Soares.
